The smart money is on the SQLBits conference this year, as Microsoft BI (all on SQL Server) steps into the Data Warehouse performance realm with proper volumes. This year's theme is performance and scalability, so as an ex-Teradata man, it is great to see such a strong technical agenda but with plenty there for the lay BI manager. I want to see proper discussions around Scalability, Fast Track and perhaps Madison (aka PDW). I/O is the big question when your SQL Server solutions mature to full-size data warehouses - there is a session on Fast-Track by James Rowland-Jones from EMC. Microsoft is refreshing almost its entire BI provision this year, be at this conference to find out more.
